This is a set consisting of a Cleaning Kit Pouch and an Accessory Pouch, worn by gunners of light machine gun squads equipped with the Type 96 or Type 99 light machine gun. The pouch with the nearly square shape is the Cleaning Kit Pouch, while the longer, narrow one is the Accessory Pouch.

• About the Cleaning Kit Pouch
  This pouch was recreated with careful attention to detail, based on measurements taken from an authentic example in my collection.
  Compared with reproductions from Nakata Shōten and others, my Cleaning Kit Pouch has a slimmer fastening strap and belt. However, it was made in accordance with the my authentic piece.

• About the Accessory Pouch
  The Accessory Pouch was made as a counterpart to the Cleaning Kit Pouch, using the same materials and specifications.
  To match the appearance of the Cleaning Kit Pouch, the fastening strap and belt are also slimmer than those on reproductions from Nakata Shōten and others.

The leather parts are made using Japanese Tochigi Leather’s cowhide. While large blemishes are avoided, since it is natural leather, small scratches and slight color variations may be present. Using only flawless sections would raise the cost and result in a look similar to modern brand-name bags, which I believe would detract from the authenticity of a standard-issue military item.

The leather is undyed. With the application of leather oil and exposure to sunlight, it will gradually develop a rich amber patina. You may also sun-dry it on clear days, but using it heavily—for example, in airsoft games—will bring about a more realistic aging effect.

If requested, the leather parts can be dyed. However, since finished items cannot be dyed afterward, they must be made from scratch. This may require a longer lead time than usual, so please feel free to consult with me.

How to Wear

Pass the pouch’s loop through your belt and wear it from your left hip toward your back.

During airsoft games, it is just the right size for storing magazines for the Type 14 Nambu. In winter, you can attach a disposable pocket warmer inside the pouch and place the magazines in it, allowing you to shoot comfortably even outdoors.
