Canteen Name Tag

This is a name tag designed to be attached to the strap of the Type 5 Canteen.
On authentic canteens, some examples can be found where the paint on the body of the canteen was scraped off and a name engraved, while others often show cloth wrapped around the strap with a name written on it.

While the authentic ones were sewn on with thread, this reproduction uses Velcro for easy attachment and removal. The Velcro is secured with strong adhesive tape, so it can also be detached if desired. For those who prefer not to use such “out-of-place” modern materials, the Velcro can be removed and the tag sewn on with thread instead.

If requested, I can also add a name as a free service. Though handwritten freehand, it will be finished in the same style and feel as the sample.

How to Use

The most common use is as shown in Image 1. When carrying a pistol, the canteen body is repositioned so that the canteen buckle is adjusted to the front of the body, with the canteen hanging on the left side. For this reason, it is preferable for the name tag to be either interchangeable or attached on both sides.

It can also be attached to the shoulder strap of the canteen sling, or to the cross strap of a pistol holster or binocular case.
